Royal Arena (Arena 7)
“Sighting his massive cannon at enemy buildings, the Royal Giant comes in the like a a wrecking ball”
How to use (Strategy)
This overpowered card is obtainable from Arena 7 relatively easy as it's common. The Royal Giant is used in more than 50% of the high arena decks. Its long range and perfect positioning make it a troop very difficult to counter.
The reason why is so popular is because it starts firing at the tower from a place where its support units are behind it. This makes very hard to deal with the royal giant without your opponents support unit killing your troops.
One of his strengths is that he can destroy buildings without receive any damage. The Royal Giant outranges every defense except the Mortar and X-Bow, not very common units in the current meta. However, don't send it alone by itself, it works better with support units.
To counter it, just let it do some damage to your tower and drop a counter push. Also, you can place an Inferno Tower in a range distance (commonly once it crosses the bridge). But don't use it if there are swarm troops in front of it, otherwise, you will waste your elixir. Also, Cannon works well.
The Royal Giant is also countered by troops such as Barbarians, Mini Pekka, Minion Horde, Goblins (any type), and Skeletons. It has been found Sparky very useful too. But always keep in mind that your first priority should be to take care of its supports. Its damage is quite low, so sometimes it worths to let it attack your tower for a couple of shots.
There are few popular combos out there, it can pair well with many troops. The favourites are with the Hog Rider, Goblins Barrel and Ballon (Royal Loon). These three combos require expertise as they are not easy to play, but once understood the mechanics, they are deadly combos.
Perfect for destroying defensive buildings.
Great positioning as support combined with a high range.
Not as tanky as the Giant.
Weak against swarm troops.
