Royal Arena (Arena 7)
Air & Ground
“Shoots a volley of flaming arrows halfway across the Arena. The Princess is afraid of germs, so keep the rabble away from her!”
How to use (Strategy)
The Princess is one the favourite troops in Clash Royale, not only because she is legendary but because of her long range. She is probably the most difficult card to counter. Her splash damage in a set of arrows is perfect to kill swarm troops like Skeletons, Goblins and Minions.
For 3 elixir, it can shoot across the map and deal splash damage. Her low cost works great for cycle decks.
A good strategy is to deploy her at the bridge when the opponent's troops are next to their Tower (assuming they played a card behind the Crown Tower). With this strategy, you will not only hit their troops but also the tower. Also, you can drop her far behind of a tank or in the middle of the battle board to clear both lanes.
People tend to use Mirror with her. Note that if you want to do it, make sure you separate them from each other, otherwise the opponent will kill both with one set of Arrows, giving him a 4 elixir advantage.
As downsides, the Princess has a 3 sec fire rate. She is useless against tanky troops such as Giant, PEKKA, Giant Skeleton and Golem due to her AOE splash damage, making her the worst single target troop.
To counter her, the best way is to use Arrows or a Miner. The problem of using a Miner on her is that it diverts attention from the Elixir Collectors and letting the opponent getting elixir advantage.
Another way to counter her is to place Spear Goblins/Skeletons once she locks on to the tower, and they'll kill her before she can get a second shot on the tower. It's the cheapest way to deal with an unprotected princess.
Longest range in the whole game.
Very difficult to counter
Low damage to kill tanky units.
Susceptible to arrows.
